This new intake offers greater flexibility for students from around the world who are looking to begin their postgraduate studies at a time that better suits their personal or professional circumstances.

The MSc Marketing is a comprehensive programme designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in a fast-moving global marketplace. The curriculum explores key areas including digital marketing, consumer behaviour, brand management, AI and big data in marketing, and ethical marketing practices - helping students to think critically and act responsibly in their future careers.

“We’re delighted to introduce the January-start MSc Marketing in response to the exceptional interest we’ve seen in our September intake. This new start date offers prospective students greater flexibility, without compromising on the academic excellence, industry relevance, and supportive learning environment that Queen Mary is known for. We look forward to welcoming a new cohort of curious, ambitious individuals who want to make a meaningful impact in the world of marketing.”

  • Dr Mina Tajvidi, Programme Director, MSc Marketing (January)

Taught at Queen Mary’s Mile End campus, the programme is underpinned by a strong academic foundation and real-world insights. Students benefit from interactive learning spaces, access to industry-standard media and digital marketing facilities, and the opportunity to engage with guest speakers and practitioners from leading global organisations. What sets this programme apart is its strong focus on practical, career-ready learning. Students participate in specialist bootcamps that provide industry-recognised certifications in areas such as AI and Big Data Analytics, digital marketing, and marketing technologies. Alongside this, they work on live business cases in close collaboration with companies, tackling real challenges and developing solutions that deliver measurable impact. These industry connections help bridge the gap between theory and practice, equipping students with the knowledge and skills that employers value.

The January programme mirrors the September intake in terms of academic standards and core modules, ensuring students receive the same high-quality experience. However, the January start offers enhanced flexibility for international students, career changers, and those aligning studies with professional goals. With tailored career events and industry engagement timed to the cohort’s journey, the January intake provides a unique pathway into marketing leadership.

Students will complete seven core modules, choose from a range of elective options, and undertake a supervised dissertation on a topic of their choice. Recent dissertation topics have included branding and social media, digital business strategy, and consumer engagement trends. Entry requirements are a 2:1 or above at undergraduate level in any subject, see further details on the course profile.
