Choosing Queen Mary for MSc Digital Marketing

Pursuing a master’s degree in Digital Marketing at Queen Mary University of London was a decision shaped by both academic excellence and location. Queen Mary’s School of Business and Management (SBM) offers a curriculum that balances theory with practical application, preparing students for real-world challenges. Modules like AI for Business, Business Analytics, and Brand Storytelling not only provided a solid foundation for understanding digital trends but also opportunities to practice through various assignments.

Studying in London meant access to industry events, networking opportunities, and exposure to companies leading in digital transformation. The university’s diverse and dynamic student community also enhanced my learning experience, offering perspectives from various backgrounds and industries.

The SBM Mentoring Programme - A Transformative Experience

One of the most valuable aspects of my time at Queen Mary was participating in the SBM Mentoring Programme. This programme connected me with an experienced mentor from the industry I aspired to work in. Having direct guidance from a professional in the marketing and digital communications field was invaluable.

Through regular meetings, my mentor provided insights into industry trends, career development strategies, and practical advice on building a professional profile. Beyond mentorship, the programme helped me expand my network, introducing me to professionals who shared their experiences and offered guidance. I also had the opportunity to gain relevant hands-on experience, further preparing me for the competitive job market.

Life in London - Exploring Beyond the Classroom

Queen Mary’s location in East London made my student life even more enriching. The area is known for its cultural diversity and artistic influences. From exploring markets in Shoreditch to enjoying the green spaces of Victoria Park, there was always something to explore. Just a short journey away, Canary Wharf provided insight into London’s financial centre, with its modern skyline, riverside walks, and dynamic business environment. The East End’s rich history, creative energy, and thriving culture added another layer to my study experience, making Queen Mary not just a place to study, but full of inspiration and opportunities.
