Choosing to pursue my master’s in London was probably the easiest decision I’ve ever made. How could I not? Studying in a global city bursting with creativity and innovation while being part of one of the top universities in London felt like the perfect way to challenge myself, grow, and expand my perspective.

With three years of experience in marketing, I wanted a programme that didn’t just focus on strategies but truly explored the psychology behind consumer decisions. That’s what made Queen Mary University of London’s MSc in International Marketing and Consumer Psychology stand out.

Few courses place such a strong emphasis on how consumer behaviour shapes every marketing decision a brand makes, and I knew that was exactly what I needed to take my expertise to the next level.

While choosing between different programmes was tough, the deciding factors for me were the modules on Understanding Consumer Behaviour and Sustainability, Ethics, and CSR, both of which aligned perfectly with my professional goals.

On top of that, Queen Mary’s reputation as a Russell Group university, the engaging events for applicants, and its central London location made me feel even more confident that I was making the right choice. Looking back, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to refine my skills and shape my future.

Life at Queen Mary

My time at Queen Mary has been incredibly rewarding. Coming from India, I was used to a different university system, and what stood out immediately was the strong support network available to students.

From free mental health counselling and academic writing programmes to a fully equipped gym and insightful guest lectures, the University provides everything needed to succeed – both in academia and in the real world.

I’ve especially loved the events organised by the School of Business and Management, which helped me connect with students and unwind. The professors have been phenomenal - always supportive and willing to guide us beyond coursework.

An added bonus? Queen Mary’s central London location, making the city easily accessible between classes. This experience has pushed me to grow, both academically and personally.

Would I recommend this course?

Absolutely! This course is structured in a way that blends theory and practice seamlessly, making every module feel interconnected and relevant. I’ve learned so much each semester and, more importantly, have been able to apply it directly to my work.

Studying at Queen Mary has widened my perspective, refined my thinking, and allowed me to dive deeper into marketing, which has always fascinated me.

Coming from an engineering background, I was initially worried about keeping up. But the course is designed so well that grasping concepts felt natural — and my professors played a huge role in that.

More than just academic learning, this experience has been fun and eye-opening. Understanding why people behave the way they do and how marketing shapes society has been an incredible journey.

Marketing has always excited me, but studying this course felt like peeking behind the curtain — and it’s beautiful. You touch lives, create real impact, and shape perceptions. Whether that impact is positive or negative is up to you — but you’ll learn about both.

That’s the beauty of studying at an international university — the critical analysis, the debate, the perspective shifts. If marketing has ever intrigued you, and you want to understand why things happen the way they do — this is the right course for you.

How the course has helped me

From the start, it was clear — this wasn’t just theory; it was how marketing works in the real world. Every concept, tool, and strategy we learned was tied to actual examples, some familiar and some completely new.

I learnt how real marketing campaigns are shaped in the world and the impact is visible even now. This course has helped me understand marketing on a deeper level and made me more eager to keep learning and staying updated.

More than anything, it has changed how I see things on a global scale and given me the confidence to apply what I’ve learned to make a real impact in my work.
