Biography:
Dr Ting Huang is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Public Management. She holds a PhD in management from Aarhus University, and a double master’s degree in public management and social development from Copenhagen Business School and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Before joining Queen Mary University of London, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen.
Ting’s research interests include public management, leadership, diversity, and organisational behavior. Her current work examines how public managers work individually and collectively to shape organisational and policy outcomes. In one line of research, she focuses on strategic leaders in public organizations. Specifically, she reviews research on top managers in public organizations, and examines the effect of executive succession and the causes of top management team diversity. In the second line of research, she explores the consequences of representative bureaucracy and gender diversity on policy and social outcomes from three perspectives, including the government, citizens, and their relations.
Her research has been published in leading journals in public management, including Public Administration Review, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Public Administration, and International Public Management Journal.

She received the Best Reviewer Award from the Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2021, PNP Division.
She co-organized different workshops with Prof Anders Villadsen at Sino-Danish Center, including workshops on leadership in public management, using ASReview for systematic literature reviews. She was a member of the Organizing Committee for the 8th e-HRM International Conference.
