Welcome to the Queen Mary Security Service website. Our aim is to provide a safe and welcoming environment to all students, staff and guests while ensuring a high standard of security for all College buildings, grounds and contents.
The Security Service Team comprises a diverse team of male and female Security Officers providing 24 hours, 365-day safety, security and crime prevention cover from three Security Control Rooms at Mile End, Whitechapel and Charterhouse Square. All Security Officers are easily identifiable by their navy blue QM Security uniforms and are in direct contact with the Security Control Rooms via two-way radio communication.

The Security Service is responsible for a wide and varied range of tasks including:
- CCTV monitoring and regular patrols
- Fire and intruder alarms monitoring and response
- Car parking management and enforcement
- Access control
- Event and VIP security
- Liaison with emergency services and local law enforcement agencies
- Providing training and targeted security advice to students and staff members
- Conducting security surveys
- Supporting provision of First Aid coverage
- Crime Prevention activities
- Investigating incidents of criminal nature
- Emergency planning and response to major incidents and crisis
- Management of Lost & Found
