Please be advised that no parking for visitors is available at any of our sites.

There are a limited number of parking spaces for Blue Badge holders, but we advise you to check with our Security Team in advance to ensure availability. Please contact the relevant Security Team, depending on which campus you are visiting.

Updated Car Parking Policy ( September 2025 ) – QMUL Mile End & Charterhouse Square Campuses

QMUL continues to offer free parking for staff across its campuses.. However, due to limited capacity and operational constraints, the following policy outlines the conditions for fair, safe, and responsible use of campus parking facilities.

Strategic approach to travel and parking

As a modern and sustainability-conscious organisation, QMUL encourages staff to consider alternative modes of transport such as public transport, walking, or cycling. Complimentary cycling storage are widely available across our campuses.

Parking should be viewed as an exception rather than a right, and staff are reminded that availability is frequently impacted by various events, project works, and emergency situations.

 

General parking guidelines

  • Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A space is not guaranteed, and staff should plan alternative travel arrangements if the car park is full.
  • No access will be granted to vehicles once the car park reaches full capacity. Drivers must seek alternative off-campus parking.
  • All vehicles are parked at the owner's risk. QMUL does not accept liability for loss, theft, or damage to vehicles or their contents.
  • Accessible parking bays for Blue Badge holders are available at most campuses (excluding Whitechapel). Staff and visitors requiring these spaces should email carparking@qmul.ac.uk in advance to confirm availability.
  • Visitor and contractor parking is restricted and only permitted by prior arrangement via carparking@qmul.ac.uk.
  • Valid QMUL ID must be shown to gain access to campus car parks.
  • All vehicles must be parked in designated bays only. Parking on pavements, grassed areas, accessibility bays or obstructing access routes is strictly prohibited.
  • We kindly remind all members of our community that any form of abuse directed towards security officers or staff managing access is not acceptable. Such incidents will be taken seriously and formally reported 

Important notes

  • Parking is free of charge for staff during operational hours.
  • No parking is available at Whitechapel Campus.
  • Vehicles must not be left overnight, on days off, or for prolonged periods without express written permission from the Head of Security and Emergency Planning or the Assistant Director Campus Services & FM .
  • Unauthorised long-term parking may result in formal action and potentially removal cost  
  • The car parking policy is subject to ongoing review, and updates will be communicated via the Security and Business Continuity webpage.
