Profile
My doctoral thesis looks at representations of breastfeeding and wet-nursing in a range of early modern texts including drama (mostly Shakespeare), sermons, conduct literature, as well as medical and midwifery guides. My research considers how these representations intersect with contemporary religious beliefs and medical knowledge.
