(video and more content coming soon - page under construction)

This podcast explores the realm of storytelling  as a powerful tool for unforgettable and impactful communication, spotlighting the initiative known as ‘Storytelling Unboxed.’ Dr Moin explains how storytelling ‘connects the dots’ between knowledge, skills and identity and discusses how as each student is unique, so is the story they tell.  We learn how engaging in Storytelling Unboxed nurtures students’ confidence and hones essential skills that can enhance academic writing.

Nafis, a Queen Mary alumni shares the profoundly moving tale he recounted at Storytelling Unboxed—a journey ignited by a bereavement linked to the tragic collapse of the Rana Plaza factory in Bangladesh, which inspired him to pursue his studies in the UK. Through this initiative, Nafis discovered his voice, empowering him to advocate against sweatshops. He reflects on his experience as an introvert taking the stage, revealing the transformative power of building confidence.

Endrit, a current Queen Mary student talks about bringing his drama and performance background to Storytelling Unboxed, discovering how his passion for drama positively intersects with the world of business. Our participants emphasise that storytelling involves communication from the heart and is rooted in authenticity. It involves ‘learning to be bad’ in order to improve.
