Catalan cellist Laura Peribáñez is a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and ESMUC (Barcelona). She was awarded the Antoni Brosa Award for her studies at the Royal College of Music in London in 2020-2021, and has performed throughout Europe in venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, Cadogan Hall, and the Palace of Nations in Geneva. In this special event, she gave a brilliant performance of two pieces by Bach and Cassadó.
Louisa Beard is a British-Catalan soprano. She studied Opera singing with Professor L. Ciaffi and piano with Professor G. Fuga at the Turin Conservatory of Music. She has sung and performed throughout Italy (Teatro Carignano, Settembre Festa) and the UK (Leeds University, BMIC, Brighton Festival, St John’s Smith Square). Clive Pollard studied Piano at the Royal College of Music, and later at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. He played regularly for the BBC Radio 4 programme “Singing Together” before working as a repetiteur for Pavilion Opera, Icelandic Opera (Reykjavík), the Royal Ballet Company and Northern Ballet Theatre. Together, they offered a selection of Catalan Art Songs by Frederic Mompou, Eduard Toldrà, and Joaquim Nin-Culmell. The wonderful Cant dels Ocells (Song of the Birds) topped off their fantastic performance.
