Professor Michael Green

Profile

I have long-standing interestes in areas of theoretical physics centered on quantum field theory, elementary particle physics, string theory and quantum gravity.  I also have interests in related areas of condensed matter and statistical physics.  In recent yeares my interest in string theory has brought me close to areas of mathematics, such as algebraic geometry and number theory.

Although I have retired from my position in Cambridge I am delighted to have returned to Queen Mary and to participate in the activities of CRST, which provides a verfy stimulating research environment.

Research

Research Interests:

My current research is concerned with detailed connections between conformal field theory and string theory.

This has strong connections with my long-term interest in perturbative and non-perturbative aspects of string theory and the mathematical structure of string scattering amplitudes.
