London Borough of Tower Hamlets
- Register with a local library for access to free resources, services, and workshops for residents.
- Tower Hamlets Connect provides residents with information and advice on health and social care, local (free) events and activities and community services across the borough.
- Visit the Tower Hamlets Cost of Living website for support and information for local residents.
- Tower Hamlets Idea Stores provide free access to computers, printing, scanning and books.
- Tower Hamlets Food Store Project [PDF 1,227KB] is a place you can go every week to pick up large quantities of food for a small amount of money. Welfare Advisers in the Advice and Counselling Service can refer students, who are Tower Hamlets residents, to the Food Store.
- Working whilst studying can be a good way to earn some additional money, gain new skills and meet new people. Q-Temps provides access to quality vacancies across Queen Mary and with businesses in the surrounding area.
- Eventbrite brings together activities and events happening in the coming months in the borough, where many can be booked free of charge.
National Organisations
- Transport for London (TLF) provide discounted travel for students.
- Specialist charity shops offering upcycled goods, including furniture, electrical items, retro and clothing.
