An error icon
We would like to raise awareness of two ongoing bugs affecting QMplus Assignments. Moodle the software QMplus is built on are aware of these issues, and two issue trackers are currently active. An issue tracker in Moodle is a database used for recording and managing all Moodle development issues, including bugs, software problems, improvements, and feature requests, to help organise, prioritise, and resolve them efficiently.
Group Submission Notifications Error in QMplus
For group assignments set to “One member submits for group,” notifications are still sent to all group members when only one student submits. This happens because the system does not recognise the submission as being for the whole group. As a result, students receive unnecessary alerts, such as overdue notifications. There is currently no clear workaround.
Notification Challenges with Offline Assignments
For offline assignments that do not require online submissions, students may still receive “Due” and “Overdue” notifications even after passing grades and meeting completion criteria. This occurs because notifications are triggered only by the absence of a submission, not by completion status. This can cause confusion for both students and educators. Moodle is aware of the issue, and a tracker is open. There is no clear workaround at present.
Next steps
Moodle are currently investigating the problems. We hope that Moodle will resolve the issue shortly. Thank you for the patience and understanding with this matter.
