Calling All Educators: Join the Level Up Pilot for Semester B
Calling all educators of Semester B modules: join the Level Up pilot to enhance student engagement and learning analytics

Are you looking for ways to better support your students, boost motivation, and make more informed teaching decisions? This is part of an exciting university-wide pilot of Level Up, a QMplus (Moodle) plugin that combines gamification with real-time learner analytics, and we're looking for Semester B Module Organisers to join us!
What is Level Up?
Level Up transforms your QMplus module into an engaging, data-informed environment. Students earn XP (eXperience Points), unlock milestones, and receive badges for completing activities, keeping them motivated and on track. For educators, Level Up provides clear insights into engagement patterns, helping you identify students who may need extra support early on.
Why Take Part?
- Empower your teaching with actionable data on student participation
- Boost student motivation through gamified elements like XP and badges
- Contribute to educational scholarship via evaluation in your module
- Join a cross-faculty community of practice focused on digital pedagogy
What's Involved?
- An initial online group meeting (45 minutes) to understand how Level Up works, followed by a 1-2-1 online meeting (60 minutes) to set up your module for semester B. These meetings will take place between 13th and 31st November 2025.
- Online workshop (1 hour in week 3 of semester B): training on how to interpret engagement analytics.
- Participation in an evaluation study.
- Optional contribution to future publications or case studies.
This pilot is part of the President and Principal's Fund for Educational Excellence project, to embed learner engagement analytics into everyday teaching. Your involvement will help shape the rollout of Level Up university-wide and could lead to co-authored scholarship and recognition of your innovation in teaching.
