I completed both my BSc Physiotherapy (2006) and MSc Advanced Physiotherapy (2011) at the University of Hertfordshire, followed by my PhD at QMUL in 2019. I remained at QMUL as a post-doc for three years before moving to the University of Essex as a lecturer in Physiotherapy.
Alongside my academic work I spent 10 years as a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist at Pure Sports Medicine, London’s leading private Sports Medicine clinic.
I now split my time between the Centre for Sports & Exercise Medicine and the Barts Health NHS Trust Physiotherapy Department, mixing academic and clinical work to facilitate best practice for common musculoskeletal conditions.
Research
My main research interests are in Patellofemoral Pain and other knee pathologies, including osteoarthritis. I focus on the epidemiology and treatment mechanisms of musculoskeletal conditions, alongside the effects of specific interventions. I have raised >£1 million in research funding to date, with around a third as lead applicant, and have published >30 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
