Profile

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health. I work on the Cancer Learn project which aims to address inequalities in cancer diagnostic outcomes for learning disabled people. Using qualitative methods, we will explore how medical symptoms are managed and diagnosed for people with a learning disability.

I am a Chartered Psychologist and have a background in Health Psychology. I received my PhD in Applied Health Research from the UCL Division of Psychiatry which explored the management of long-term conditions in people with dementia. My research to date has focused on the psychological aspects of health and ageing, specifically the management of long-term conditions. I also have an interest in the applications of technologies to improve mental health of older adults, specifically loneliness. I adopt a participatory approach to my work to include the voice of lived experience in health service research.
