TaPRA Gallery and Film Programme
The TaPRA Gallery brings together an exhibition and film programme of practice-based research across theatre and performance. Open throughout the conference, the TaPRA Gallery is hosted in BLOC, Queen Mary’s new studio, gallery, and cinema space, located on the ground floor of the Arts One Building.
This year’s contributors were invited to respond to the theme “Acts of Cultural Resistance.” Across the exhibition and film programme, artists and researchers explore how theatre and performance research can represent, engage with, and actively contribute to acts and struggles of resistance. The works address urgent forms of cultural and political struggle, including resistance to genocide, environmental destruction, state institutions, and the structural violence experienced by people on the basis of their identities.
See below for further details of the exhibition and film programme.
