Elona Shatri is the recipient of the Michael A. Katell Memorial Fellowship for Responsible and Equitable AI Futures, a fellowship awarded through a collaboration between UNESCO’s Social and Human Sciences Sector and DERI, sponsored by Fondazione Randstad Italia AI & Humanities.
As part of her research activities at the DERI, Elona has contributed to several interdisciplinary projects, including the AHRC BRAID funded CREAATIF (Crafting Responsive Assessments of AI & Tech-Impacted Futures), investigating the impacts of generative AI on creative industries. She has also worked on the FCDO funded, UK-Qatar joint Artificial Intelligence Research Commission, a partnership between QMUL and Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU), which aims to establish a strategic roadmap for bilateral AI collaboration.
Elona is also a PhD candidate at Queen Mary University of London's School of EECS, focusing in Optical Music Recognition and Computer Vision.
