Profile
Dr Shibo Li is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Generative and Multimodal AI for Clinical Data at the Digital Environment Research Institute (DERI). He received his PhD from the University of Glasgow, where his research focused on computer vision for image and video processing, as well as wireless sensing for healthcare applications.
Following his PhD, Dr Li joined Professor Venet Osmani’s research group at DERI. His current work focuses on multimodal generative AI for synthesizing clinical data, including biomarkers, imaging, and multi-omics. By integrating large-scale clinical data from diverse sources, his research aims to optimize medical treatment strategies across heterogeneous patient populations and reduce healthcare disparities through the development of responsible AI. Additionally, his work addresses data scarcity in rare diseases and promotes the accessibility of clinical data for public research while safeguarding patient privacy.
