Sheila Collins, HR Strategic Transformation Partner & Co-Chair Menopause Network
Sheila works as an HR Strategic Transformation Partner where she has been involved in a range of cultural, structural and transformation change programmes across the university. Sheila has worked at Queen Mary for six years, and started the Menopause Awareness Programme at Queen Mary in 2022.

Rebekah Shaw, Counselling Manager & Co-Chair Menopause Network
Rebekah Shaw is the co-chair of the staff menopause network as well as being the manager of Queen Mary's Student Counselling service and has worked at Queen Mary for 16 years.

Menopause Support for Staff

The session aimed to provide staff with an awareness of the menopause journey and the support for staff that is available at the university.

Liz Grand, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager
Liz Grand is an experienced Equality, Diversity and Inclusion practitioner, currently working as EDI Manager at Queen Mary with a strong focus on gender equality and inclusive culture. Liz leads strategic initiatives that embed equity and diversity across organisational culture and practice.

This webinar session raises awareness of the link between oral health and the potential impact of menopause.  It provides preventative strategies for improved oral health for healthy ageing.

Swati Nehete, Reader in Restorative Dentistry & Clinical Assessment 
Dr Swati Nehete is a Clinical Reader in Restorative Dentistry and Clinical Assessment in the Institute of Dentistry.  She has been working at QMUL since her original appointment in Dec 2004. She has a wide interest in teaching and research and is currently working on projects relating to social mobility, Ai for education and is participating in national conversations regarding oral health for healthy ageing.

Menopause Awareness- Psychological Impact of Perimenopause

This webinar provided awareness of the emotional and psychological impact that the menopause transition can have during the perimenopause and menopause stages.

Rebekah trained as an integrative psychotherapist over 20 years ago and has worked in a variety of education settings with staff and students and in her private therapy practise specialises in supporting women through their menopause transition.

This session was delivered by an NHS GP who gave advise on how to get the most out of an appointment when discussing matters related to your menopause journey.

Dr Stephen Adetunji is
a GP Partner and accredited GP Trainer with special interest in minor surgery and substance misuse.

Menopause and Neurodiversity 

Menopause Awareness- Menopause and Neurodiversity Session Recording 22.10.25

During the session it was discussed the state of the evidence about different types of neurodiversity, focusing on ADHD and autism, and the experience of the menopausal transition.

Jessica Agnew-Blais, Senior Lecturer in Psychology 

Dr Agnew- Blais research investigates the developmental course of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) across the life span. Her current study focuses on ADHD among girls and women, and the role of times of hormonal change, including puberty, the menstrual cycle and the menopausal transition, in functioning among women with ADHD. Dr. Agnew-Blais is trained as an epidemiologist with a focus on psychiatric disorders.
