Conservative MP Esther McVey – a graduate of the School of Law – has kept her position as Employment Minister in the latest government reshuffle, but she will now attend Cabinet. She had been tipped for a move to another position, reports

Bloomberg Business Week, Professor Tim Bale, School of Politics and International Relations, says: “What’s striking is quite how sweeping it is, given that we’re 10 months from the election. Normally you would see this kind of clear-out halfway through the cycle. It’s testament to how close the election is shaping up to be.”
