Professor Phoebe Okowa elected Judge of the International Court of Justice

Professor Phoebe Okowa, Professor of Public International Law at the School of Law at Queen Mary University of London, has been elected as a Judge of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) by the United Nations General Assembly and the United Nations Security Council.
Queen Mary law student wins Community Impact Award at the inaugural UKCISA We Are International Awards

Gowri Promy Kaprakattu, an international student in the School of Law at Queen Mary University of London, has received the Community Impact Award at the inaugural UKCISA We Are International Awards 2025. She is one of 13 winners selected from more than 420 nominations submitted by over 120 institutions across the UK.
Professor Malgosia Fitzmaurice presents to Legal Advisors at the United Nations

She was invited by the Permanent Missions of Italy, Spain and Morocco to the United Nations to present a briefing on the work of the Institute of International Law during the 2025 Session of Rabat, during which the Institute of International Law adopted various resolutions and declarations.

Professor Rosa Lastra has been appointed as an expert member of the recently established International Jurisdiction Taskforce (IJT) chaired by Sir Geoffrey Vos, Master of the Rolls, and established in 2025.
New project aims to create an oral history of anti-racist campaigning in East London
