Dr Davor Jancic delivers Keynote Lectures at the Jean Monnet Academy
From 4-5 June 2025, Dr Davor Jancic, Senior Lecturer in Law, was Keynote Speaker at the Jean Monnet Academy in Bazoches-sur-Guyonne (West of Paris), France, delivering two lectures on parliamentary diplomacy in Europe and the world and a workshop on threats to parliamentary democracy.

Dr Jancic was invited as the leading expert in the field by the European Parliament’s Directorate-General for Parliamentary Democracy Partnerships (DG PART) on the occasion of the DG’s Away Days.
The lectures and the workshop were attended in person by some 55 members of the DG, including the Director-General, Directors, Heads of Unit, managers, advisers, the European Parliament’s representatives in its offices abroad, with a number of DG members simultaneously joining online.
The Jean Monnet Academy is part of the Jean Monnet House complex, once the place of residence of Jean Monnet, one of the founding fathers of the EU, and the place where the Schuman Declaration was drafted. This is now a museum and a venue for the training of civil servants of the European Parliament, cultural programmes and important policy events. For example, the 88th Transatlantic Legislators’ Dialogue (April 2022), gathering members of the US Congress and the European Parliament, took place at the Jean Monnet House in April 2022.
