Queen Mary intellectual property expert to co-host landmark event on the future of AI patents in Europe
Professor Noam Shemtov and Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute (QMIPRI), University of London, will be co-hosting a prestigious two-day event in Stockholm, Sweden, on 18–19 September 2025: The Future of AI Patents: Navigating Europe’s Patent Landscape.

Organised in partnership with Dr Jur Christina Wainikka of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and in collaboration with BusinessEurope, this high-impact event will bring together leading voices in law, technology, and policy to explore the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence patenting.
The programme will feature unique insights from both legal and technical members of the European Patent Office (EPO) Boards of Appeal for Computer-Implemented Inventions (CIIs), offering attendees a rare opportunity to engage with experts at the forefront of AI patentability in Europe.
