EUPLANT events
A number of events have taken place in the context of the Jean Monnet Network on EU-China Legal and Judicial Cooperation (EUPLANT). The network (coordinated by Dr Matthieu Burnay) investigates the interactions between the Chinese and the European Union (EU) legal and judicial systems. Through a set of research, policy and outreach activities, EUPLANT creates new avenues for enhanced academic and policy cooperation between the EU and China and engenders a better understanding of each other’s legal systems. Recent events (hosted by CEILA) include: an Intellectual Property Festival at the City University of Hong Kong, a Lecture on ‘The Contribution of the General Court to the Rule of Law in the EU’ at QMUL by Judge Geert De Baere (CJEU), as well as a Lecture on ‘From “Occupying Central” to “Anti-Extradition” in Hong Kong – Limits of Law and Power of Politics’ at Queen Mary by Professor Lin Feng (City University of Hong Kong)
Upcoming events include:
- 10 February 2020: EUPLANT Seminar: The EU in the New Era of Illiberalism with Professor Dr Jan Wouters (University of Leuven).
