Profile

Dr Shalini Perera is Reader in Corporate Law and Co-Director of the School of Law's LLM Programme. She joined the School in September 2008. Prior to joining, Shalini was a Judicial Assistant to Lord Justice Sedley, Court of Appeal (2007-2008). Shalini was a also a stipendiary lecturer at Merton College, Oxford (2007) and a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Company Law at the Faculty of Law, Oxford University (2004-2006), where she studied for her doctorate.

Research

Shalini’s primary research interests include corporate law, corporate finance and international investment law.  Recent research has focussed on how the financing and ownership of companies affects the governance of companies in the context of developing economies.

Queen Mary Academy Fellowship 2025-26

Excellence in Student Employability - Focus: Employability Skills - Shalini's project aims is to improve excellence in student employability with a specific focus on embedding employability within the law postgraduate (taught) programmes.
