Why did you choose to study at CCLS?
I wanted to pursue a master degree in UK specializing in Banking and Financial law and, particularly, I wished to spend some time in London. Queen Mary, University of London (then “Queen Mary & Westfield College”) had a very impressive program so I decided that was the best place to go to achieve my professional dreams… I have always thought I made the right choice.
What is your favourite memory of being a CCLS student?
Sharing time with students from all over the world was an amazing experience. I was also fortunate enough to have been admitted as Research Assistant during the course of my LLM and that gave me the opportunity to share time with many prestigious professors and scholars. Dr. Rosa Lastra was my boss then! And she was an extremely generous person who shared with me her knowledge of banking law. She was a great mentor and help me to publish some of my research on banking and monetary law.
What does being a member of the CCLS community mean to you?
I am proud to be part of the CCLS community. The CCLS and QMUL names are always associated with excellence and it is also the duty of all its members to keep that standard.
How did your CCLS experience contribute to your career?
It added an International background to my professional profile. It also allowed me to meet and stay in touch with excellent professionals resident from different jurisdictions. Nowadays, I have friends, colleagues and even clients with whom I have developed longstanding relationships that started back in my times at the CCLS.
Why do you think prospective students should study at CCLS?
I have advised my students to attend an LLM and be part of the CCLS and fortunately, they all came back to thank me for that advice. My career (as well as the careers) of those young lawyers have benefited so much from the experience at the CCLS that I cannot think of another place to recommend to someone pursuing a successful legal career in the world of business.
