Why did you choose to study at CCLS?
I chose to study at CCLS because of the quality of the academics and the experts there. Also because of the centre’s expertise in Commercial Law — and specifically Banking Law and Financial Regulation, which is the field of my professional and academic interests. Renowned experts like Prof. Rosa Lastra and Prof. Rodrigo Olivares-Caminal. In addition, many of the lectures also involved other international guests — including many leading practitioners.
What is your favourite memory of being a CCLS student?
My favorite memories were the lectures and seminars! I never missed a single class or seminar. Being in London also meant being exposed to many other academic and cultural experiences. Certainly I also enjoyed meeting people from all over the world and socializing with them.
What does being a member of the CCLS community mean to you?
It means being a part of a group of students and professionals that benefited from a privileged education and academic environment. I remember how open and close the lecturers were, and how much they supported our professional lives — even after graduating!. For example, I provided research assistance for one professor, and another recommended me for a top international consulting job that lasted over five years! More than a decade after graduating I still write to some of them regularly and keep them informed about my professional whereabouts.
