Jon Miller Scholarship
Fenwick Elliott LLP is the UK's largest construction and energy law firm in the UK. They are supporting a new scholarship, named after Jon Miller, a former partner at Fenwick Elliott and a member of Queen Mary's alumni community. Jon sadly passed away in 2024, and this scholarship has been set up in his name to support a student for the duration of their time at Queen Mary.
The scholarship will be awarded each year to one first-year LLB student, who will receive an annual bursary of £1,500 as well as careers support from Fenwick Elliott via a mentor who will be available to them to discuss opportunities in the legal industry. They will also be offered the opportunity to arrange work experience placements with the firm each summer and/or Easter.
The recipient of the scholarship will receive initial payment during their first year of study, with the scholarship to be renewed in each subsequent year of study provided the renewal criteria are met.
Please note: all shortlisted applicants will be offered the opportunity to arrange work experience placements at Fenwick Elliott.

Applicants must fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for the Jon Miller Scholarship:

How to apply
All potentially eligible applicants with Home fee-status will be notified when the application process opens. Anyone wishing to submit an application will be asked to fill out an online application form, which will include a brief personal statement up to 300 words.
You can make an application via the application form
Applications close on 31 May 2025
Shortlisted applicants will be asked to answer a further question, to be set by Fenwick Elliott, and to attend an interview with the representatives of the firm. The interview panel will include one member of the School of Law, however, the final decision on the award of the scholarship will rest with the representatives of Fenwick Elliott.
All shortlisted applicants will be notified of the outcome of the selection process within two weeks of the completion of the interviews. Should the scholarship winner hold a conditional offer, their scholarship cannot be fully confirmed until such time as their entry onto their respective LLB programme is confirmed (i.e. upon receipt of results which are deemed acceptable for admission). Should the scholarship winner
hold an unconditional offer, their scholarship can be fully confirmed at the point of notification.
Fenwick Elliott and the School of Law reserve the right to withhold the scholarship in any given year in the absence of an appropriate candidate.
