LAW6164 Comparative Law
The objective of the module is to give students a good grounding in the main principles of the key components and methods of comparative law. The module aims to build on skills and knowledge which will already have been acquired during the study of other subjects. It aims to refine and develop students’ analytical skills, including the analysis of foreign law, methodological skills for answering research questions within one’s own legal system, adequately retrieving all relevant sources in legislation, legal doctrine and case law. Applying the same to another legal system and make relevant comparisons between both legal systems as to the same research question.
