Collecting your Student ID Card

New students starting in September must book an appointment to collect their ID card

Collecting your Student ID Card

Your ID card will provide access to the Library and other buildings and facilities for those students based on campus. Please be advised that the guidance below is subject to change so please check this page and your email regularly for the latest information.

New students starting in September 2025 will need to book an appointment via MySIS to collect their ID card.

Booking an appointment is the only way to collect your card and the booking task will only appear for you once you have full or temporary enrolment. You will be able to select which AskQM Hub you would like to collect your card from.

If you are studying remotely then please see the Distance Learning webpage for information about how you will receive your ID card.

Where and When to collect your Student ID Card

Where, when and how to collect your Student ID Card depends on your programme start date. Please select the appropriate drop-down below for full information.

Programmes starting in June, July or August 2025

This information is only applicable to students with a start date in June, July or August 2025. If your start date is in September, please see the section in the next drop-down below.

Once you have received confirmation of your full or temporary enrolment via email, you can drop-in to an AskQM Hub to collect your student ID card. Or, if your programme organisers have arranged for you to visit an AskQM Hub as part of your induction schedule, please follow their instructions.

Please be ready to show the email confirming your full or temporary enrolment and check opening hours before visiting.

Please note that you will not be able to collect your ID card from an AskQM Hub or your program organisers ahead of your programme start date or before you have full or temporary enrolment. Please do not attempt to collect your card early as it will not be available.

Programmes starting in September 2025

For students with a programme start date in September, you can only collect your ID card via appointment. You can check your programme start date in MySIS under 'My Details'.

Once you have been granted full or temporary enrolment you will be able to book an appointment via MySIS to collect your student ID card from an AskQM Hub.

You will find the booking task under the 'My Enrolment' tab in MySIS. Please note the task will only appear if:

  • Your programme start date is in September 2025
  • You are fully or temporarily enrolled
  • Your programme is based London

Once you have entered the task, please select your chosen AskQM Hub from the drop-down list and book a date/time convenient for you. You can book now for a later date.

  • iQ East Court, Mile End: Appointments available from Monday 1st September
  • Mile End Library: Appointments available from Monday 15th September

Appointments are available September-October so don't worry if there are no available appoints on your first few days on campus! You do not need an ID card as soon as you arrive on campus.

Please note:

  • Take a screenshot of your booking or have your confirmation email ready as you will need to show this to a member of staff before they can produce your card
  • You cannot collect your ID card without an appointment so please do not just turn up as you will be directed to book an appointment. Don't panic if you cannot book an appointment for your first few days on campus!
  • Your booking is only valid for the Hub you have booked at. If you want to collect your card from a different Hub, please return to the task, cancel your booking and book a new appointment for the preferred location
  • You can currently only book an appointment at the Mile End Campus but appointments at the Whitechapel Campus and Lincoln's Inn Fields Campus will be available soon. Please revisit this section for updates on when you can book at these Hubs.
  • If you have missed your appointment, you can cancel you booking and book another appointment within the task

Drop-In Sessions

If you arrive to the university late and bookings are closed or there are no suitable appointments left to book, don't worry. You can collect your ID card by visiting us during a drop-in session instead.

Drop-in sessions begin on Monday 6th October only. If wanting to collect your card before this date, you require an appointment.

More information will be added here at the start of October.
