Collecting your Student ID Card

Collecting your Student ID Card

Your ID card will provide access to the Library and other buildings and facilities for those students based on campus. Please be advised that the guidance below is subject to change so please check this page and your email regularly for the latest information.

If you are studying remotely then please see the Distance Learning webpage for information about how you will receive your ID card.

Where and When to collect your Student ID Card

If you are studying on campus then you can collect your ID card from an AskQM Hub once you have been granted full or temporary enrolment. Depending on when you start your programme and want to collect your card, you may be required to book an appointment. Please see the guidance below about where, when and how to collect your card.

The AskQM Hubs are based at the Charterhouse Square, Lincoln's Inn Fields, Mile End and Whitechapel campuses in London. You are welcome to visit/book at any Hub but you may wish to consider which campus your School/Institute is based at:

  • Charterhouse Square Campus: Barts Cancer Institute, the William Harvey Research Institute and the Wolfson Institute of Population Health
  • Lincoln's Inn Fields Campus: Centre for Commercial Law Studies
  • Mile End Campus:
    • Humanities and Social Sciences: School of Business and Management, School of Economics and Finance, School of Law, School of Society and Environment and School of the Arts
    • Science and Engineering: School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences, School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, School of Engineering and Materials Science, School of Mathematical Sciences and School of Physical and Chemical Sciences
  • Whitechapel Campus: Institute of Dentistry, Institute of Health Sciences Education and The Blizard Institute

Students starting in November 2025 or earlier

If you are studying on campus and haven't yet collected your ID Card, please drop-in to an AskQM Hub to get it at your earliest convenience. Our Hubs are open on the Mile End, Whitechapel, Charterhouse Square and Lincoln's Inn Fields Campuses.

Please check the opening hours of your chosen Hub before visiting and ensure that you have your Student ID number ready so that we find your student record. Please remember that you must have received confirmation of your full or temporary enrolment in order to obtain your card.

Students on a distance learning programme can expect to receive their ID card during the first few weeks of the semester via post.

Students starting in December 2025 or January 2026

Queen Mary Enrolment begins on 1 December 2025 so you may be enrolled several weeks before your programme start date, depending on whether you are able to provide all information required for enrolment (e.g. proof of arrival in the UK).

You are welcome to collect your ID card as soon as you receive confirmation that you have full or temporary enrolment using the guidance below.
