Third Party Correspondence

This page contains information about the way in which Registry Services and the wider Queen Mary community may correspond with third parties now that we have moved over to a new way of managing student enquiries called AskQM. Things that have changed include:

  • The name of our service
  • Our email address
  • How we may contact you
  • How you can contact us

Please see below for more information about what these changes may look like.

AskQM Frontline Enquiry Team & Physical Documents

The AskQM Frontline Enquiry Team are the front-facing enquiry service for the university. We were previously called the Student Enquiry Centre. We are currently transitioning our documents to a new letterhead and for the time being, our documents may still refer to the Student Enquiry Centre.

Digital Document Submissions

If a student or graduate has requested we send documents on their behalf, our digital document orders will be sent from the address reply@ask.qmul.ac.uk. These were previously sent from studentenquiry@qmul.ac.uk and this email address has now been decommissioned and should no longer be used to contact us. For any third parties who wish to speak to us, please use our AskQM contact form. Current students should instead log in to their AskQM portal.

Documents sent via the email address reply@ask.qmul.ac.uk are authentic and have been produced by Registry Services, Queen Mary University of London. Please be aware that verification of awards and documentation is still managed via the Hedd Portal and instructions on how to log these requests are detailed on our Hedd Portal Webpage.

Degree Verifications

Standard degree verifications will continue to be provided using the Hedd Portal system as outlined previously, with any requests submitted to us via AskQM being directed to create an account and log the required verification.

For instances whereby documents are being submitted for attestation via a Solicitors office, these can be submitted via our AskQM contact form.

When logging your enquiry, please select the Category 'Graduation & Former Students' and 'Verifying Degrees, Awards and Attendance' as your subcategory so we can field your query as quickly as possible. Once this is logged, you will receive an email notification with relevant guidance or links to our library of Knowledge Based Articles with more detailed information.

Council Authorities Data Request

If you need to contact us for the purpose of tax collection (Data Protection Act 2018, Schedule 2, 'Crime and taxation: general'), please follow the process noted below:
