Video
Use the video embed content type to add a YouTube or Vimeo video to your page without a heading or description sentence. Use the Video Card content type if you would like to add a heading and description sentence.
When to use Video Embed
A Video Embed content type allows you to add a YouTube or Vimeo video to your T4 page. Don’t just paste the URL to the video, because this isn’t accessible. By using a Video Embed, you allow the content to be screen reader-friendly.
If you prefer your video embed to have a heading and supporting text, use the Video Card content type instead.
Example
The Video Embed content type should contain -
- The video ID, either from YouTube or Vimeo.

Components
This content type only has one component and can be added directly to the page on which you would like it to appear.
If the ‘Video embed’ content type is not listed as an option once you have selected '+ Add Content', please contact websupport@qmul.ac.uk.
Adding the content type to your webpage
Below are the different fields you will fill in when creating a Video Embed, and what information you should include.
Name
This is how your content type will be named within the backend of T4 and will not be publicly visible.
YouTube ID
The YouTube ID is the code after the '=' sign in the URL. For example, in ‘https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBt7Is0noh4’ the YouTube ID is ‘IBt7Is0noh4’.
Vimeo ID
The Vimeo ID is the code after the final '/' sign in the URL. For example, in ‘https://vimeo.com/97415838’ the Vimeo ID is ‘97415838’.
