PGR Induction will take place the week of 6 October 2025

We're excited to welcome you to Queen Mary University of London! This section contains important information for Postgraduate Researchers starting their doctorate in January 2025.

The majority of induction will take place virtually. If you have any issues receiving invitations to these meetings, please contact DoctoralCollege@qmul.ac.uk and we will be able to provide you with the meeting details.

Day One - Monday 6 October 2025

International student induction

Who you need to know at Queen Mary - 1-3.10pm, online 

Day Two - Tuesday 7 October

Research focus - 10.30 - 11.20am

Research focus - 1.30-3.15pm

Day Three - Wednesday 8 October

Opportunities for development  - 1-2.35pm 

Day Four - Thursday 9 October

Networking session - 11.30am-1pm | The Octagon, Queen's Building, Mile End Campus

Please arrive any time from 11am onwards, where we’ll be hosting a drop-in networking session for you to get to know your fellow PGRs. This will be followed by some fun activities including a scavenger hunt around campus and a quiz about Queen Mary.

In-person Welcome Fair - 2-4pm | The Octagon, Queen's Building, Mile End Campus

Take part in the in-person Welcome Fair and networking session where you can meet members of the Doctoral College, fellow PGRs, and a range of people from across Queen Mary.The Welcome Fair will include stands from:
