Laptop Devices |
Raise a ticket with ITS via Service Now. Please raise as a ‘Hardware Provisioning - Device Request or New Starter Full Setup Request’ ticket type, as appropriate.

Please note, non-standard devices require justification and approval.

ITS fund up to £1300 for the device. The additional is funded by departments and will require departmental approval.
Note, second devices are only approved in exceptional circumstances either for personal health reasons or for research purposes. |
If broken, please raise a Service Now ticket, for sustainable disposal. Items can be disposed of at any of the collection and disposal sites listed below. For a replacement, please raise a Service Now ticket. ‘Hardware Provisioning – Device Request’ ticket type. |
Laptop devices must be returned to ITS for data wiping and license revocation. Laptops must not be circulated directly to other colleagues. Failure to return to ITS will result in local department being charged full replacement cost.

Raise a ticket with ITS via Service Now. Please raise as a ‘Hardware Provisioning - Device Request’ for tablets, or ‘Mobile Device Request’ for mobile phone. More information mobile phones can be found HERE

Tablets, mobile phones and additional docks/hub monitors are locally funded by departments – including recurring charges for mobile data |

These items are provided to staff members when they join Queen Mary along with their laptop device – you can request these items by raising a ‘New Starter Full Setup Request’ on Service Now. |

Standard keyboards and mice come with desks in working spaces (along with a monitor / docking station) as standard. |
Hub monitors / laptop docking stations and standard keyboards are provided per desk as standard.
Hub monitors / laptop docking stations are not provided for home use.
ITS funded for office use – no charge to departments.

For data protection reasons, portable storage devices should not be used as the primary location to store data. They may be used to temporarily hold data.
To request a USB or external hard-drive, raise as a ‘Hardware Accessories Request’ via Service Now. Please note, this will require business justification and approval. |
