The Careers and Enterprise office in iQ East Court will be closed from 24th December to 5th January. Whilst there will not be any appointments or events during this period, Careers and Enterprise have a number of online resources that you can use at any time:

  • Are you currently looking for or applying for jobs? Browse the QM Careers Hub for vacancies or use our online CV checker to improve your application.
  • Do you have an interview or assessment centre coming up in January? Practice by using our mock interview and psychometric tests.
  • Or maybe you’re just starting to explore potential careers? If so, head over to the Careers Discovery Feed on QM Careers Hub to learn more about different roles and sectors.

The Queen Mary IT Service desk will remain open throughout the Christmas closure period (i.e. Thursday 25th December to Monday 05 January) providing remote support only and can be contacted via the usual channels as per the IT Services website.

If your query is urgent then we would strongly recommend contacting the Service Desk via LiveChat or on +44 020 7882 8888.

Security will be providing normal cover, patrolling and monitoring all Queen Mary campuses on a 24-hour basis during the holidays. The Security Control Rooms on each campus will be open as usual to respond to any requests and enquiries that need immediate action during this time. A member of Security can always be contacted on 020 7882 5000.

Visit the Queen Mary Security website for more information about security around the campus.

The chaplain of St Benet's Chaplaincy is available to all students (and staff) by phone/text/email/zoom at any time over the Christmas Holidays and can meet in person in an emergency.

The St Benet’s chaplaincy at 327 Mile End Road will not be open for drop-in over the holiday but the chaplain Ella Sharples has details of local churches who are happy to personally welcome any students.

The Student Health Service will close on 15 December and re-open on 05 January 2026. During that time students are advised to use the main site at 26 Palmers Road (E2 0FA).

The main site will close on the bank holidays: 25, 26 December and 01 January 2026.

If you need help when both sites are closed, you should call 111 which is a free-phone number nationwide. On dialling 111 a team of fully trained advisers and experienced nurses will assess your condition and direct you to the local service that can help you best. The 111 service is in operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
