ITS Recruitment Approval Panel

The panel will be responsible for the review and approval of all recruitment requests.  It will ensure a consistent, fair and efficient process.  The panel, comprising the HR Strategic Partner, Finance Partner, Deputy CIO, and a Business Management representative, will review and approve all recruitment matters, including:

  • Vacancies
  • Agency workers
  • Market supplements
  • Retention supplements
  • Additional allowances
  • Acting-up allowances
  • Is the role essential to fill?
  • Are there alternative ways to manage the workload?
  • Can internal resources be reallocated?
  • What cost-saving measures can be explored?

Submission: Recruitment managers submit a case for approval

Review: Cases are reviewed and assessed by the panel

Decision:  Approval or feedback is provided to the Recruitment Manager

Frequency: Panel meetings will be held fortnightly, with a cutoff date for submissions

Role of Recruitment Manager

  • Prepare and submit business case, with rationale for each request
  • Provide evidence of need, impact and alternative considered
  • Present cases to the panel during scheduled meetings, if required
