Wellbeing is the experience of good mental, emotional and physical health. Find out how to promote and enhance your wellbeing and that of your colleagues.
All employees who complete 25 years of continuous service will receive a long service award.
This equally applies to part-time employees or those who have been employed on fixed-term contracts and have remained with Queen Mary for 25 years.
Queen Mary employees celebrating 25 years' service will receive a personalised letter from the Principal and a gift (must not be cash or vouchers due to tax implications) of £300 in value on the date of their 25 year anniversary.
The award is not mandatory - an employee may opt out of receiving the award if they wish.
The Process
Managers will be contacted by HR colleagues in advance as a reminder of the long service, with a request to provide some wording that would be included in a personal letter to the staff member from the Principal.
This might include any notable achievements or successes that they have had, or their personal impact and contribution to their team/colleagues.
The manager should speak with the team member to find out the gift they would like to receive and also raise a service desk ticket for the attention of the ITS Business Management Team, to request the purchase. Stating clearly that the purchase is for a Long Service Award.
