Networking and Panel events

Make connections to expand your professional network and hear from industry professionals and Queen Mary alumni as they share insights into their careers, challenges, and successes.

Panel sessions provide an excellent opportunity to learn from real experiences, gain valuable advice, and ask your questions in a supportive environment.

Networking events provide valuable experience across different industries and help you explore job prospects and career paths.

Career fairs

Meet recruiters from a variety of sectors and explore employment and internship opportunities. We run several job fairs throughout the year, including the Spring Recruitment Fair, which connects finalists and recent graduates with full-time roles. Employers attend these fairs to engage with students and graduates looking to enter the workforce across multiple sectors.

Students can gain much from attending a fair, by speaking to employers directly and learning about the sector, the variety of roles available and entry requirements. Prepare for the fair with employer and ambassador top tips.

Themed weeks

Throughout Semester A and B, we hold themed weeks, with events highlighting careers in different sectors or for specific students. For example, annually we host Science and Engineering Careers Week, International Careers Week, and the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences Careers Day – as well as many others!

Employer visits with QTaster

QTaster, part of our Aspire programme, allows undergraduate students to visit a variety of employer's offices. These visits provide industry insights, commercial awareness, as well as share information on the company's graduate opportunities. Check out more about QTaster and the upcoming visits here.

Career development workshops

Career Essentials are workshops designed to get you set up and ready for work after graduating. Covering a range of topics from how to write the best cover letter, through how to excel at psychometric tests to whether you should do a masters, there's a Careers Essentials for every career need. Career Essentials run throughout the first and second terms.

Masterclasses pick up where Career Essentials leave off and take it to the next level. They are designed for finalists to help prepare you for life after graduation, whether that's practicing responding to interview questions at a mock recruitment centre or discovering how to maximise your LinkedIn profile for networking and applications.
