Financial Accounting

The financial accounting team is primarily concerned with the following areas:

Financial Accounting

  • Preparation of the University and subsidiary charities’ financial statements
  • Preparation of the timetable for the above (available in the Financial Accounting section from June each year)
  • Advising on accounting issues

Taxation

  • Preparation of University VAT returns and other filings
  • Advice on VAT (see also guidelines in VAT section)
  • Preparation of the University Corporation Tax returns
  • Requests for proof of residence letters from HMRC for withholding tax treaty reliefs

Endowments

  • Advice on permitted use for endowments and funds available.

Treasury Management and Banking

  • Investment of surplus funds
  • Day to day management of banking relationships and allocation of non invoiced incoming cash

Internal Recharges

  • Processing internal recharges onto Agresso
