Our process

Our process is thorough, to ensure we consider every aspect of a project and deliver the best possible solution to you and your audience. In order to achieve this, we need to be involved from an early stage and fully understand your requirements. Each project's requirements are different and our approach will vary depending on the areas we want to develop.

The steps below are to help you understand how we will work with you to create and deliver your web presence. Not every step will be necessary for you, and in our initial meeting, we will agree on the steps that are relevant.

Step 1 - Book

Please complete our worksheet to book in your project.

This gives us a good overview of your requirements and helps us draw up a realistic schedule. Depending on the scope of your project we may need to have a discussion to clarify the brief.

Step 2 - Plan

This step is a collaboration between you and us - together we will:

  • Identify target audiences and competitors.
  • Agree key messages, USPs and objectives.
  • Carry out Information Architecture (IA) exercises to inform the structure of your website.
  • Produce content tables to identify the key messages and priority of content for each page.

Step 3 - Build

  • We establish the visual hierarchy of content on key pages and design the visual layout for these.
  • You work with Content and Branding Team to draft the content for your website.
  • We build the site in the content management system (CMS).

Step 4 - Test

  • Cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure the site works on all devices.
  • User testing (budget and timescales permitting).
  • Final signoff/approval by you, the client. Your site is now ready to go live!

Step 5 - Launch

  • We will launch your site on an agreed date.
  • We then hand over the reins to you to maintain and update your content.
  • We are always on hand to support you with any issues or questions you have. Contact us at websupport@qmul.ac.uk
  • Keep in touch with us, we'd love to join any discussions you have regarding the development of your website.
