Get started on Canto

Get started with Canto by requesting access, signing in with your Queen Mary account and learning how to quickly find and download approved media for your work.

1. Gain access to Canto

All Queen Mary staff members should have 'Standard User' access to Canto using their Queen Mary login details. If you don't, your line manager can request this by contacting ITS. 

Request Canto access via ITS

Line managers should contact ITS to request their team have access to the Canto media library.

Contributor access

Communications professionals at the University will need Contributor access, which allows you to upload content to Canto. If you believe you require Contributor access, please contact the Content and Brand team.

2. Sign in to Canto

Sign in to Canto

Once you have access, you can use your Queen Mary details to sign in to Canto.

3. Search and download media

You can search and download media from Canto in a number of ways, depending on what you are looking for. You can:

  • Use the search bar - Searching key words will show you media with matching tags. This is a good way to search if you are looking for something specific (e.g. an image of a particular building)
  • Curated albums - The curated albums in the left-hand menu allow you to see media highlights related to our campuses, faculties and key events.
