Who can borrow equipment

Our camera equipment is available to teams across Queen Mary who are -

• Creating videos not intended for social media.
  Social media content can be captured using a smartphone.
• Taking photos that will be professionally printed.
  For general use, a smartphone is usually sufficient.

Borrowers must have basic knowledge and experience with DSLR cameras, as we are unable to offer ongoing support once the equipment is checked out. A short, 10-minute tutorial on using and setting up the equipment will be provided at the time of collection.

When to submit your request

Please submit your request using the form below at least two weeks before you need the equipment. Late requests may not be fulfilled due to limited availability.

How to borrow equipment

1. Submit the request form.
   Complete the Camera Equipment Request Form. Equipment can be borrowed for up to one week at a time, and pick-up and return days are Tuesdays and Thursdays.
2. Receive calendar invites.
   If your request is approved, you will receive calendar invites for pick-up and return appointments at Department W. Please arrive on time to avoid delays for others.
3. Pick-up appointment.
   At your scheduled collection time, we’ll walk you through a brief tutorial on how to set up and operate the equipment.
4. Return appointment.
   When returning the equipment, we’ll check that:
• All items are accounted for and in good condition.
• All media files have been exported.

Please note: Damaged or missing equipment may result in a charge to your team or department, due to our limited stock.
