Website projects

Use the below stages to manage your website build or redesign projects. Before you begin using these resources you will need to complete the online T4 training.

Before you create your website

Before you begin building or redesigning your website, take the time to define what you want it to achieve. As a team, agree on your website's goals and the audience you want to reach. Then follow the steps below to identify your target audiences, understand why they are visiting your website and determine the content they need to achieve their goals.

Creating your new website

A successful website redesign follows three stages, which must be completed in order:

  1. Structural review
  2. Content review and creation
  3. Building or editing T4 webpages

Skipping or rushing stages often leads to rework and extended timelines.

Webpage ownership

Webpages at Queen Mary are owned and maintained by the subject experts within any given area, rather than a central team. This means that you will be responsible for any webpages you create or request to be created - Webpage ownership guide [PDF 49KB].
